PRODUCTS IN THE 2003 / 2004 SCHOOL YEAR

PROJECT I - ‘I and my interests’Students of 6 ’a’ and ’b’ grades of primary school, 1’a’ and ‘d’ of gimnasium made their works on a piece of A 3 paper. In the works they present themselves, their families and interests. Next, they exchanged the works with students from other countries. That way they started a correspondence which lasted till the end of 2003 / 2004 school year. Students could choose the form of presentation; the language of the project was English; but students had to translate everything they had written into Polish. It enabled students from partner countries to get to know the basis of other languages. |
PROJECT II - ‘My school’Students of 6 ’a’ and ’b’ grades of primary school, 1’a’ and ‘d’ of gimnasium made projects in the form of posters, albums or models presenting their school. Powerpoint presentation on our school in English and Polish was prepared by teacher who are involved in the project. They also prepared a leaflet on our school in English and Polish. |

PROJECT III – ‘My city’Albums presenting our city were prepared by students of 6 ’a’ and ’b’ grades of primary school, 1’a’ and ‘d’ of gimnasium. The albums were made in English and Polish. There was also prepared a CD with a filmed version of the project. Students show the most beautiful parts of our city and some photos. |
PROJECT IV – ‘Traditional Polish songs’Students of 1 ‘a’ form of gimnasium recorded six traditional songs (regional and national). Music was delivered by a music teacher – Mrs Anna Kubica. Everything was filmed and then recorded on a CD. Additionaly, three more Powerpoint presentations were made:

PROJECT II – ‘A song of the project’Partners decided a song of the project to be’ Brother John’ which is known in every language. Students of second grade gimnasium recorded the song in each language of the project – Polish, French, Italian and English. Before the project was made, coordinators had to learn the words of the song in each language – it was possible during the visit to Poland, and then the teachers could teach the song to their students. The song was recorded on a CD and Polish lyrics were added. |

PROJECT III – ‘A famous person from my region.’ Students were to choose one person from their region or country and present him / her in English and Polish. Wojciech Korfanty, John Paul II and Adam Małysz were the ones who were chosen the most often. The projects were sent by e-mails and on CDs; so they could be printed and showed. Some of students prepared albums and there was one recording on a tape. |

PROJECT IV – ‘ Historical aspect of the area, trade, tourism, industry, communiaction and architecture development’ Students of third ‘f’ form made this project. They made it in the shape of Poland border. In the map they marked the most important industrial, touristic and architectural points. Those points were connected by communication roads. This map presented only Silesia. There was also a legend and the most interesting things to visit.

PROJECT II – a leaflet ‘My city is worth visiting’In October students of the second ‘b’ grade prepared leaflets ‘Siemianowice Śląskie – city worth visiting’ They prepared the leaflets during their Art classes with Mrs Gęsikowska. The leaflet included – a map, the embelem and some important information. Students marked the most interesting points, sometimes sticking pictues. Those places were: parks, a small castle, the town hall, Burnt Treatment Centre and the monument of Wojciech Korfanty. |
PROJECT III – A diary ‘a week of my life’Students had a task to describe their ordinary week with the usage of as many pictures as possible. Students described the most important elements of their lives so that it would be interesting for foreign students. Next, after the exchage of the projects, we could compare styles of life in each parter country. The diaries were made on A4 sheets of papers with the usage of paints, crayons and press cuttings.

PROJECT IV – A European board gameThe preparations started in March. The model for it was Eurobusiness Game. It was as big as two A3 sheets of paper. It also contained questions – around 30 on Poland, Silesia, Siemianowice Śląskie and the school. The answer was marked somehow – in was at the bottom of the page or it was underlined. It is an educational game. The winner is a person who is able to answer correctly the biggest number of questions. For this game you can make your own rules so it makes it even more interesing.

PROJECT V – A universal calendarThis project is a common final product. The calendar is divided into twelve months. On the first side of each month there are pictures or photos which show events happening in each country during this month. On the opposite side there are explanations. The calendar does not have days of the week marked , only numbers, so it can be used for many years. |
